Introducing "You Good?"a Podcast About Care in Real Life
As one does in the year 2026, I created a podcast with my best friend and fellow therapist.
If you’re on this Substack journey with me, you know that I can’t resist exploring something new. A new medium, a new way of looking at things, a new way of providing support to my clients.
I love nothing more than trying something I haven’t tried before, and seeing what comes of it.
My dear friend Sarah has a similar energy. We met when we were getting our masters in social work, back in 2014. Sarah is an incredible therapist and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner who works primarily with burned out millennials.
Through therapy, coaching, and workshops, Sarah helps people connect how their thoughts and emotions are showing up in their bodies. Sarah supports people who are overwhelmed and burned out, helping them find ways back home to their body so that they can feel more grounded and present, more often.
Bonus for you all? Her voice is so soothing.
The cross section of my work with the sandwich generation and Sarah’s work with stressed out millennials is this: our current culture encourages people to tolerate feeling stretched thin and overwhelmed.
It takes active, intentional effort to slow down, identify what you need, and build routines that prioritize your wellbeing. Sarah and I wanted to talk more about that. And that, my friends, is how “You Good?” was born.
Each episode, we sit down with guests to talk honestly about what self-care actually looks like in real life. Not the sparkly Instagram version. Not the “take a long bath” version (no shade, you know your gal loves a long bath).
But what we wanted to know was how people cared for themselves on busy days, on hard days, and during those stretches of life where time and energy feel virtually non-existent.
The way our guests talk about how they care for themselves is as unique as the guest themselves, because finding a way to care for yourself is personal, not prescriptive. You need to find what works for you.
Our hope is that this podcast gives you ideas of new things to try, so that you can continue to figure out what works for you. It’s an ongoing process, after all. None of us is ever “done” caring for ourselves.
Our trailer is out now! Please go give it a listen here.
And if it resonates with you, we would love your help:
